Ok, so last week (yeah, I know, last week), I did my first ever open mic reading at the Ugly Mug cafe in old town Orange. It was awesome! It was a five minute or 3-poem spot (whichever comes first), so I did three from the book ('natch). I chose Invictus, Left Justify and Newport. I introduced the last poem as 'the first poem I wrote after arriving in California.' Of course, that was almost 13(!) years ago. Wow. Time flies.
